Archdiocese of Detroit Development Office Wins Two Awards
The Department of Development and Stewardship of the Archdiocese of Detroit won two awards presented by the International Catholic Stewardship Council. The awards were presented at the council’s annual meeting in San Diego, California, Sept.19.
The department was the winner in the Annual Appeal Poster category, pertaining to the archdiocese’s annual Catholic Services Appeal (CSA), which helps in funding of the Archdiocese of Detroit’s central service operations, Sacred Heart Major Seminary, and some national and international Catholic Church initiatives.
The department was the runner-up in the Total Diocesan Stewardship Effort category. This award was for the department’s revised parish Christian stewardship education manual, Called by Christ, Gifted by the Spirit, and related materials distributed to all parishes in the archdiocese in October 2009.
Leading the efforts behind the winning entries were Thomas Scholler, associate director of development and stewardship, Terry Kach, associate director of Catholic Services Appeal, Jessica Orzechowski, development services manager, and Dave Casnovsky, associate director of special services. Graphic designer Shannon Reincke of DoubleDog Design in Ada, Michigan, and writer Darci Smith of Chicago, Illinois, contributed to the projects.
