John Paul II Cultural Center to remain on market

The Ann Arbor-based Dominican Sisters of Mary have decided not to close under the purchase agreement with the Archdiocese of Detroit to acquire the building and land at 3900 Harewood Road in Washington, D.C., which is where the Pope John Paul II Cultural center is located.

The Sisters signed a purchase agreement with the Detroit archdiocese in October 2010 and had been conducting due diligence on the details involved in the purchase. As the Sisters have decided that the purchase of these assets is not appropriate for them at this time, the Archdiocese is restarting its efforts to market the building and property.
