Orthodox Metropolitan Kallistos Ware to Speak at Seminary Feb 19
Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Kallistos Ware, one of the world's foremost authorities on Catholic-Orthodox dialogue, will give a presentation on the topic from 10:30 a.m. until noon on Feb. 19 at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. The presentation is open to the public and will include a session of questions and answers. No cost to attend.
Metropolitan Kallistos, the Metropolitan of Diokleia and a native of Somerset, England, is a member of the official committee charged with ecumenical talks between the Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church at the highest level. In his presentation, he will focus on the current state of the relations between the Orthodox and Roman Catholic Churches, the history of those relations, and on his committee's work over the past few years. Metropolitan Kallistos also is the chairman of the Anglican-Orthodox Theological Dialogue, and is well known for his authorship of the book "The Orthodox Church."
