Three Priests to be Ordained for Detroit Archdiocese
Detroit Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron on Saturday, May 26, at 10 a.m. will ordain threemen to the Catholic priesthood for the Archdiocese of Detroit. The men, Deacon StevenMateja, Deacon Salvatore Palazzolo and Deacon Paul Snyder, have been in formation atSacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. The ordination will take place at a liturgy at theCathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 9844 Woodward Avenue, Detroit. The publicis invited to attend. Deacon Steven James Mateja, 32, of Westland. Deacon Mateja is the son of David andLinda Mateja and entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from St. Theodore Parish inWestland. Following his ordination, Deacon Mateja will serve as associate pastor at OurLady of Good Counsel Parish in Plymouth.
Deacon Salvatore Joseph Palazzolo, 31, of Macomb Township. Deacon Palazzolo is theson of Peter and Angela Palazzolo and entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from St.Isidore Parish in Macomb Township. Following his ordination, Deacon Palazzolo willserve as associate pastor at St. Lawrence Parish in Utica.
Deacon Paul Michael Snyder, 34, of Livonia. Deacon Snyder is the son of Gerald(deceased) and Marie Ann Snyder and entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary after havingbelonged to St. Edith Parish in Livonia and National Shrine of the Little Flower Parish inRoyal Oak. Following his ordination, Deacon Snyder will serve as associate pastor at OurLady of Sorrows Parish in Farmington.
