Incident at Most Holy Trinity School
On Wednesday, October 3, four middle school students at Most Holy Trinity School in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood were sickened by a substance that— without their knowledge or acquiescence— was put into a snack they were eating. Based on the students’ serious and adverse physical reactions, school administrators believe the substance was either marijuana and/or the non-regulated substance known as “Spice” or “K2,” said to prompt a marijuana-like high, along with a number of serious side effects.
Three of the four students were rushed to the hospital. One of them remains hospitalized in serious, but stable, condition.
A fellow middle school student is believed to be the individual who tampered with the snack food.
Detroit Police are investigating the incident
140 students attend Most Holy Trinity School (K-8). On Thursday, October 4, parents and guardians received an update from the school principal.
