Regarding Mr Thomas Caruso
A recent audit by the Archdiocese of Detroit showed a number of financial discrepancies between 2002 and 2010 at Christ the Good Shepherd School – prior to its merging into John Paul II Catholic School this year – relating to federal subsidies for the purchase of milk for students, and other school funds. The estimated loss to the school is in excess of $50,000. As a result of the findings, the Detroit Archdiocese has filed a complaint with the Michigan State Police against former Christ the Good Shepherd principal Mr. Thomas Caruso, who served at the school from 1990 until 2010.
The Detroit Archdiocese takes such matters seriously and is cooperating fully with civil authorities. We are reserved from making further comment during the police investigation.
