Archdiocese to hold annual Mass for Commerce Oct 16

Release Date: 10/14/13

Liturgy will be 8 a.m. at Sacred Heart Major Seminary

The 20th Annual Mass for Commerce, a liturgy celebrated for the business and professional community of Southeast Michigan, will be held Wednesday, October 16, at 8:00 am at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, 2701 Chicago Boulevard in Detroit. Detroit Auxiliary Bishop Michael J. Byrnes will be the main celebrant.

All are invited to attend the Mass in thanksgiving for God's gifts of love and grace. For 20 years, this Mass has given those in the business community an opportunity to spread the hope and joy that comes from knowing Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

Participants in the Mass for Commerce seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit and their Catholic faith in their personal and commercial dealings. Following the celebration of the Mass, attendees will gather for breakfast at the Seminary for fellowship as well as networking. This is an opportunity for professionals to take time out of their busy work week to celebrate fellowship and faith in God. In good times and in difficult times, the constant for the Catholic business community is the teachings of the Gospel.

Catholics involved in business are invited to bring their colleagues and business associates to pray for their business, the Southeast Michigan business community, and the general economy.
