Statement regarding the sentencing of Timothy Murray
U.S. District Judge Victoria Roberts sentenced Timothy Murray, a priest removed from ministry in 2004, to 15 years and 8 months in federal prison for possessing and distributing child pornography. The Archdiocese of Detroit issues the following reaction…
“Rather than focusing on the sentencing itself, my concern is for the far too many innocent children victimized by pornography and sexual abuse. We owe them our prayers and a lasting commitment for safe passage through their young lives.”
