Religious Order Priests Added to Detroit List of Accused Removed Clergy

The Archdiocese of Detroit has added three names to its online listing of clergy accused of and\/or removed from ministry due to sexual abuse of minors. The three religious order priests were visiting and\/or assigned to the Detroit archdiocese several decades ago. Their cases are being– or have been– handled by church officials elsewhere. <\/p>
- Fr. Timothy Conlon<\/strong> – a Crosier Father (OSC) reported to have spent the summer of 1977 helping at Sacred Heart Parish, Roseville prior to being ordained. Conlon, 65, is currently restricted from any public ministry.<\/li><\/ul>
- Fr. John Farris<\/strong> – a Vincentian Father (CM) granted a leave of absence in 1969. He lived at St. Barnabas Parish in East Detroit (Eastpointe) for several months. Farris (1921-2003) is deceased.<\/li><\/ul>
- Harry Walsh<\/a><\/strong> – a Redemptorist (CSsR) priest assigned to Holy Redeemer Parish in Detroit in the mid-60s. He left Michigan in 1969 and incardinated into (joined) the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. Walsh, 79, has been dismissed from the clerical state (laicized).<\/li><\/ul>
