Statement regarding vandalism at Livonia church properties
All priests and parishes in the Archdiocese of Detroit have received this advisory from the Department of Communications.
Sometime between late this past Friday evening and early Saturday morning, two Church properties in Livonia were vandalized. At St. Colette Parish, a door and a statue were spray painted; at the Felician Sisters Motherhouse, the sidewalk was spray painted in several locations. In both cases, the vandals left some rather ugly, obtuse messaging about the Church, the Vatican, and idolatry.

The Livonia Police Department is investigating the incidents.
As we have recommended to our parishes, schools, and institutions in the past, regular security audits of your buildings inside and out should be a priority. In many communities, local law enforcement is available to assist in such efforts.
