Five men to be ordained priests May 23 for Detroit Archdiocese
Detroit archbishop Allen H. Vigneron on Saturday, May 23, will ordain five men to the Catholic priesthood for the Archdiocese of Detroit: Deacons Mario Amore, Sean Bonner, Brian Meldrum, Jacob VanAssche and Sean Bonner.
The May 23 ordination will take place at a liturgy at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 9844 Woodward Avenue, Detroit. The public is invited to attend. Those being ordained will greet family and friends following the ordination Mass. More details about the men being ordained:
Deacon Mario Amore, 28, is the son of Robert and Mary Amore. He entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from his home parish of Our Lady of the Woods in Woodhaven. He will begin his priestly ministry as an associate pastor at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Farmington.
Deacon Sean Bonner, 45, is the son of Brian and Una Bonner. He entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from his home parish of Immaculate Conception in Lapeer. He will begin his priestly ministry as an associate pastor at Holy Family Parish in Memphis and St. Augustine Parish in Richmond.
Deacon Brian Meldrum, 31, is the son of William and Jessica Meldrum. He entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from his home parish of St. Thecla in Clinton Township. He will begin his priestly ministry as an associate pastor at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish in Waterford.
Deacon Jacob VanAssche, 26, is the son of Jim and Kathy VanAssche. He entered Sacred Heart Major Seminary from his home parish of St. Stephen in New Boston. He will begin his priestly ministry as an associate pastor at St. Damian of Molokai Parish in Pontiac.
Deacon Radoslaw Zablocki, 40, is the son of Halina Wieslaw of Kolo, Poland. He attended SS. Cyril & Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake. He will begin his priestly ministry as an associate pastor at St. Thecla Parish in Clinton Township.
