Reverend Ronald Sayes

Father Ronald Sayes passed from this life on November 15, 2020 at the age of 88.

Father Sayes was born on March 23, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan, and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 1, 1957.

Father Sayes served as Pastor of St. Bernardine of Siena Parish, Westland; St. Perpetua Parish, Waterford; SS. John and Paul Parish, Washington Township; St. James Parish, Ferndale; and St. Patrick Parish, Carleton. He also served as Associate Pastor of Mother of Our Savior Parish, Detroit; St. Catherine Parish, Detroit; St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Detroit; St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Allen Park; and St. Benedict Parish, Highland Park.

Visitation for Father Sayes will take place on Thursday, November 19 at 10 a.m., at SS. John and Paul Catholic Church, 7777 28 Mile Road (just west of Campground), Washington Township, Michigan 48l094, until the time of his funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038.

Father Sayes is the beloved brother of Kenneth (Sally) Sayes and Carol (Jerry) Lingeman; dear uncle of Matthew (Audrey) Sayes and Andrew (Erin) Sayes; and great uncle of Noelle, Paul, and Adam. Father Sayes was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Verna Sayes.
