Regarding Reverend Joseph (Jack) Baker

On October 13, a jury in the Third Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan found Fr. Joseph (Jack) Baker guilty of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree. Regarding the trial, Archbishop Vigneron said: “I have followed the proceedings closely and am aware of the wounds experienced by all involved. May they receive the healing power of Christ in prayer.”

The Archdiocese of Detroit will not comment further until the matter is fully resolved. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 2.
