Monsignor Robert Monticello

Monsignor Robert Vincent Monticello passed from this life on March 21, 2023, at the age of 96.

Monsignor Monticello was born on October 26, 1926 and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 2, 1951.

Monsignor Monticello served as Pastor of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Farmington Hills, St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Allen Park, and St. Martha Parish, Dearborn. He also served as Parochial Vicar at Church of the Madonna Parish, Detroit and St. Alphonsus Parish, Dearborn. Monsignor also served as Chaplain at St. Francis Home for Boys.

Monsignor Monticello is predeceased by his parents, Vincent H. and Marie C. (nee Hendricks), and his brother, Gerard F. Monticello.

Visitation will take place at A.J. Desmond Funeral Home, 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak, Michigan 48073, on Monday, March 27, from 4 – 8 p.m., with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m.

Monsignor Monticello will lie in state at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 23815 Power Road, Farmington, Michigan 48336, on Tuesday, March 28, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
