Reverend Lawrence Jackson

Reverend Lawrence Joseph Jackson passed from this life on January 20, 2024, at the age of 89.

Father Jackson was born on October 30, 1934, and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 4, 1960.

Father Jackson served as Pastor of St. Michael Parish, Sterling Heights, and St. Dennis Parish, Royal Oak, as well as Administrator of St. Rene Goupil Parish, Sterling Heights. Father also served as Parochial Vicar of St. Peter Parish, Mount Clemens and St. Gabriel Parish, Detroit.

Father Jackson is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Geraldine (nee: McCann) Jackson, and three of his brothers, Richard, John, and Father Patrick, as well as by his nephew, Mark. He is survived by his siblings, Terry (Mary Anne), Brian (Dorothy), James (Melanie), and Geraldine Deighton (Richard), as well as by many nieces and nephews.

Father Jackson will lie in state at St. Michael Parish (40501 Hayes Rd., Sterling Heights, Michigan 48313) on Tuesday, January 23, from 3 to 9 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Michael Parish on Wednesday, January 24 from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Private interment will take place in St. Gertrude Cemetery, St. Clair Shores.
