In light of questions that have arisen, the Archdiocese of Detroit wants to revise certain elements of notification of the decrees regarding the former St. Cecilia and St. Leo Parishes. On June 19, 2013, Archbishop Allen Vigneron issued a decree merging St. Cecilia and St. Leo Parishes and, in so doing, created our new territorial parish called St. Charles Lwanga Parish. These changes take legal effect on July 1, 2013. The method for recourse concerning administrative decrees is found in canons 1732-1739 of the Code of Canon Law. For the next two weekends, that is until May 18, the aforementioned decree will be placed at the entrance of St. Leo and St. Cecilia churches.
