Pontiac Area Vicariate to Be Renamed Paint Creek Vicariate

Having received a request from the Vicar forane of the Pontiac Area Vicariate, Archbishop Vigneron has approved changing the name of the vicariate to the Paint Creek Vicariate effective January 1, 2022.

With the July 1, 2021 transfer of some parishes to new vicariates to support the transition to Families of Parishes, this new vicariate name better reflects the geographic composition of the remaining parishes in the vicariate.

Rev. William Promesso will continue to serve as Vicar forane of the Paint Creek Vicariate.
