Regarding Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan

On December 5, 2024, Archbishop Vigneron issued a decree establishing Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM) as a public association of Christ’s faithful and giving it public juridic personality. This canonical status matches in the Church’s law what CCSEM enjoys as a non-profit corporation in civil law. CCSEM will continue exercising the charitable work it carries out in the name of the Church.
