The Archdiocese of Detroit has been revitalized to become again the Church on mission, uniting in Christ's commission to make disciples of all nations. In the words of Pope Paul VI, "Evangelizing is in fact the grace and vocation proper to the Church, her deepest identity. She exists in order to evangelize." (Evangelii Nuntiandi 14) It is through evangelization that we provide the opportunities for individuals to "encounter Jesus anew, to grow daily as his disciple, and to give witness to the power of his mercy."
