Interested in developing your vocal potential, performing great music of all styles and periods in various venues, and singing for the honor and glory of God? Join the Cathedral Choir Academy of Detroit, the newest and fastest-growing youth choir program in the Archdiocese!

For more information, please call 313-865-6300 and visit cathedral.aod.org.

Committed to artistry in performance and founded in response to the Archbishop’s Pastor Letter, Unleash the Gospel, CCA welcomes both urban and suburban youth of all faiths, grades 3 – 12. In residence at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, 9844 Woodward Ave, Detroit, the choir rehearses on Tuesdays, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. dinner included.

Currently, the program offers three levels of instruction: the Descant (Training) Choir, the Cathedral Children’s Choir, and the High School Schola Cantorum. In addition to singing Pontifical Liturgies at the cathedral, CCA has performed at the Basilica of Ste. Anne de Detroit, the Henry Ford, Comerica Park, Little Caesar’s Arena, the Detroit Athletic Club, and Sacred Heart Major Seminary.

Under the direction of veteran music educator and choral conductor Susan Lindquist, the Cathedral Choir Academy of Detroit embraces the mission of the New Evangelization and is committed to providing an experience in which our youth encounter Christ through sacred music, grow in faith and musical excellence, and witness to the Word Incarnate.

Sharing the Gospel with our youth is not enough, we need to teach them to respond to it. Furthermore, choir membership enables the young Church to take their rightful place of leadership at the most important gathering of the Church, the Holy Mass. Singing for the honor and glory of God, CCA choristers joyfully unleash the Gospel in southeastern Michigan and beyond.
