The Jubilee Year, under the theme of "Pilgrims of Hope," marks the 2,025-year anniversary of the Incarnation of the Lord. The Holy Year will offer the faithful opportunities to make a pilgrimage and participate in various jubilee events at the Vatican and in their own dioceses.
The great tradition of opening the Holy Door will begin with Pope Francis opens the Holy Door of St. Peter's Basilica on December 24, 2024. Other holy doors will be opened at the Rome basilicas of St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major and St. Paul Outside the Walls. There will be opportunities for reconciliation, indulgences and other events to strengthen and revive faith.
During the Jubilee of Young People, celebrate the vibrancy and impact of young people in the Church with fellow young Catholics from around the world. Deepen your faith and connect with others as you pray at St. Peter's Basilica and explore some of Rome's most iconic churches. Experience the Jubilee in a unique way by participating in young-people-focused events and activities designed to inspire and empower the next generation of Catholic leaders. Pray with the Holy Father and be part of a global community of young believers. Don't miss this extraordinary journey through holy and historic sites and discover the enduring legacy of Rome as the heart of our Catholic faith.

ABSOLUTE MUST-READ BEFORE REGISTERING
Please read the Trip Details Sheet for details on the itinerary, pricing, payment deadlines, and other important information.
The cost of registration does NOT include the cost of flights. Verso Ministries is organizing group air rates for flights. You can purchase group air, or you can choose to purchase your own flight separately. (Group air will be available if 10 or more pilgrims choose this option.)
Verso Ministries will soon purchase group air (with 10 or more seats) either out of Detroit for $1,700 or out of Chicago O'Hare for $1,300. Please complete this survey as soon as possible. Based on the majority of responses, Verso Ministries will decide on the group air departure city. You will be responsible to get yourself to and from the airport (either in Detroit or Chicago.)
If you purchase your own flight separate from group air, you must also arrange your own transportation between the airport and lodging in Rome. If you purchase the group air flight option, we will provide the transportation between the Rome airport and our lodging.
It is highly recommended that you purchase travel insurance for your trip. You will be able to purchase travel insurance at the time you register. The cost of insurance is additional on top of the cost of registration. Given the unpredictability of changes in global travel at this time, we highly recommend paying for the “cancel for any reason” option for your travel insurance. For more information on the offered travel insurance coverage go to Versoministries.com.
If you register with this pilgrimage through the Archdiocese of Detroit and Verso Ministries, you will be required to attend two online Archdiocese of Detroit Jubilee of Young People Info Sessions and the final logistics meeting with Verso Ministries in the months leading up to the Jubilee of Young People in preparation for this pilgrimage. There may also be some in-person meetings with a smaller group as part of the preparation. These meetings will provide you with critical information to prepare for this pilgrimage experience and to build connections with your fellow pilgrims before traveling together.
It is important to understand that the Jubilee of Young People is a pilgrimage experience, not a vacation. As a pilgrimage, you will want to be prepared with an attitude and spirit of acceptance of the difficulties and challenges a pilgrimage provides as an opportunity to offer your sacrifices to Our Father in heaven and accepting of the beautiful graces God wants to give you through this time.
You will experience tiredness and general fatigue, heat, above-average humidity, discomfort, and other challenges. There will be a lot of walking. Particularly on Saturday, we will be making a long pilgrimage walk with backpacks carrying our personal gear for the night to the Vigil location where we will sleep in a field overnight and celebrate mass with the Pope the next morning. We will not be in tents.
At the same time, you will have many opportunities to encounter Jesus, experience joy, meet other young people from around the world, enjoy the beauty of Italy, build friendships, grow closer to God and receive the special graces and blessings He has planned for you.
When you register, you will see an option for additional pre- and post-trip extensions. The Archdiocese of Detroit will not lead a specific group on these trips, but Verso Ministries will host them. If you decide to participate, you will travel with other young people from possibly the Archdiocese of Detroit and other parts of the US. See details on the Trip Details Sheet.

- We will arrange to place you with a roommate for the accommodation if you do not have someone you plan to room with (unless you pay separately for the single occupancy accommodation option)
