The Archives Office collects, arranges, preserves, and makes available for research historical records of the Archdiocese of Detroit and related Catholic institutions and individuals. The collections include transcripts, replacement diplomas, administrative, and non-Chancery Catholic collections, including the papers of past bishops and a collection for every parish that has ever existed in the current boundaries of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
The Archives holds the sacramental records of almost 100 closed parishes, communities and hospitals, and issues sacramental certificates to individuals requesting their own certificates.
